David Mack, PhD., Director, Research and Development

David is one of the key developers of the WellAWARE™ solution. In 2001, he received his B.S.M.E. in mechanical engineering from Ohio Northern University.  The following year he joined the Medical Automation Research Center (MARC) at the University of Virginia (UVa), where he primarily focused on passive sleep analysis while helping to develop, test and validate various components of eldercare technology that would eventually become the first offering for WellAWARE.  In 2008, he received his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at UVa before joining the WellAWARE team.

What does the WellAWARE Systems opportunity mean to you?

"After losing one of my grandmothers to Alzheimer’s and seeing the positive impact of preventive care, I am motivated in my calling as a scientist to develop technology that helps others live better, more fulfilling lives. I find joy and satisfaction in the eternal value of that calling with every life I am able to impact."
