David is one of the key developers of the WellAWARE™ solution. In 2001, he received his B.S.M.E. in mechanical engineering from Ohio Northern University. The following year he joined the Medical Automation Research Center (MARC) at the University of Virginia (UVa), where he primarily focused on passive sleep analysis while helping to develop, test and validate various components of eldercare technology that would eventually become the first offering for WellAWARE. In 2008, he received his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at UVa before joining the WellAWARE team.
