WellAWARE™ Systems, in partnership with Volunteers of America (VOA) and The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society (GSS), was developed to enhance quality of life for those needing assistance and improve care delivery efficiencies in a variety of settings – Home Health, Group Homes, Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing. This solution was developed to enable caregivers, both professional and personal, to monitor the daily living patterns of individuals, without the use of intrusive cameras or microphones, provide proactive care, and to enhance communication opportunities with family members. The critical information obtained compliments the caregiver’s ability to analyze, evaluate and intervene in a more timely and preventative manner.
We believe those needing care, professional/personal caregivers, and operators all benefit from using WellAWARE. Among the benefits for those in need are improved quality of care delivery and peace of mind. WellAWARE enables caregivers to detect possible health concerns before they become serious, often saving time and energy, and creating more informed interactions with the care recipients. Ultimately, operators can offer pro-active health programs, a better quality of life for all individuals involved, enhanced communication with families, and possibly reducing costs through efficiency and prevention of escalating health conditions.
WellAWARE is designed to monitor the following trend conditions: sleep/restlessness, general activity/movement, bathroom visits, shower use, plus entry and exit from residence. WellAWARE is also able to alert caregivers of potentially emergent conditions, such as a disabling fall or situations where the stove has possibly been left on while unattended for an extended period of time.
No. WellAWARE is entirely passive – there is no requirement for active participation. Once the sensors are installed most people forget they are even there and continue on with normal activity.
No. WellAWARE does not use cameras or microphones, so no one will have visibility into your private life as a result of using the solution. The data that WellAWARE captures is completely contained in a secure computing environment and access is only provided to those who the resident designates as approved users.
WellAWARE is capable of distinguishing between human residents and their animal companions. Just let us know what pets you have in your home and we will adjust your resident profile to address the situation.
Through our partners such as Volunteers of America (VOA) and The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society (GSS), the resident signs a monthly service contract and the system is installed into the cared-for individual’s living space. To maintain privacy and dignity, there is no need for cameras or active participation on the part of the resident. Instead, small sensors that gather daily living patterns information are distributed discreetly throughout the living environment. The WellAWARE System connects to the Internet and outputs sensory data at regular intervals to the WellAWARE™ data servers. The data is interpreted and reported through an easy to use web interface from which caregivers can make better, informed decisions about the care they provide to their residents.
WellAWARE is offered as a monthly monitoring service. Please refer to our reseller partners for more information.
No. WellAWARE is designed for use by professional caregivers as a support tool to better inform them of trends in daily living patterns, which aides in their care planning decisions.
